I've just wrestled something mentally that tugged on my emotions a little bit that came along the lines of criticism. That's why contrast, that thing we seemingly dislike in which ALL growth comes from, is beautiful! The "foginess" seemingly dissipate in the search for sun light. And that's just it: even though we SEE fog at the moment doesn't mean the sun isn't shining. So, how do we notice those gentle beams of light?
In a recent personal situation, I've found myself trying to wrestle a situation that increased in negative momentum and I noticed the way I felt. The make of it was victimizing myself, justifying myself, trying to compare something outside of myself against myself, diminishing the outside thing while raising myself up through that comparison, then feeling the need to be praised for that and any other thing I've done.
That wouldn't have ended the momentum either had I acted on the thought in the direction it was headed. I've left that modality awhile ago: That's a little person's move; one that the highest version of myself would be in opposition with. I've made peace with it and thought ... this may HELP someone and I love being of assistance, so the narrative is here!
That's a call for growth, you've gotta realize it. Criticism doesn't mean "Hey you suck" or "you do this well but not this" ... it means to BE more stellar. Someone just gave you free game. Smile, thank, adapt, make a better product! Make 'em feel comfortable enough to keep making you better, of course, with selective choice on your part. We don't want to surrender our personal growth and development to another's perception.
Though everyone is entitled to their truth, the folk disagreeing washes their cars but NEVER wax it. Mop floors (or swiffer) but refuse to polish it. Use knives but may not sharpen them. Cook food without the usage of seasoning. Wear khakis without a crease ... lol I'm messing with y'all! But I know you understand where I'm coming from. There is a way to make ANYTHING better than what it is if we are open to it.
If you CANNOT expand, which is ABSOLUTELY impossible, then you will cease to BE a better version of YOURSELF. Contrast creates clarity. Learn to be a friend with it.
Cool food without the usage of seasoning took me out clean. But yes these days most people giving criticism are usually trying to discourage or break ones spirit. Alot
of them do not understand how someone can be so happy so joyful and why? But none the less they call it constructive criticism.
